Charity Bike Toy Run

Saturday 12th December

In aid of the AAN who care for disadvantaged Children in La Marina and San Fulgencio.

Here are details of meetng places and times:

Meet at La Marina Urbanisation Petrol Staton where we will assemble with hopefully Christmas decorated bikes at 10.30am. Covid restrictions will apply to distancing on and off bikes.

At 11am we will then ride around the Urbanization, going past the Saturday market and ending up at Sam’s Bar La Marina, probably about 4 miles. We will park bikes in groups of 6 with a distance between them at a safe parking area just below the bar. This will provide a great photo opportunity for the club. Dave has arranged for Councillor Samantha to judge ‘best dressed bike’ with a small prize. Parking is a small walk up some steps. Presents can be handed in to the charity if you have not delivered them already. We will need numbers for breakfast at Sam's Bar as soon as possible and an indication of people willing to attend the run. Please contact Dave Joynes via "Whats App Member Rides South" or "Whats App Member Rides North". If you don't use "Whats App" please send return email to me confirming your attendance and the number of people attending.

This is extremely important as Sam's Bar will need to know exact numbers as Covid restrictions will apply.

Don't forget to dress up your bike and let's get as many Father and Mother Christmas's and the odd elf there on the day.

Magdalena La Mola collage1.jpg

Santuario de Santa Maria Magdalena

Novelda, Alicante

The Sanctuary of Mary Magdalene. This religious building is reminiscent of a small version of the Sagrada Familia from Barcelona. The Sanctuary was designed by a student of Gaudi and built between 1919 and 1946. It contains both Medieval style and Baroque.
A special element in the Sanctuary is the organ. In recent years, a great deal of effort has been put into making  this marble pipe organ fully operational again. Reputed to be the only marble organ in the world.  El Castell De La Mola is located just opposite. and was built in the 12th century on top of an old Roman fortress.
